Product Details
The Cervélo S5 is the speed benchmark of professional cycling, with a race palmarès that speaks for itself. From Wout van Aert's record-breaking Green Jersey victory to Simon Yates' dominance in the Giro d'Italia, the S5's iconic V-stem and bayonet fork have become a fixture at the front of the professional peloton. The new generation builds on that legendary heritage by pushing aerodynamic efficiency to new levels, 6.3 watts faster than its predecessor while maintaining the handling, poise, and stability that riders everywhere trust.
The biggest aerodynamic gains come from reimagined front-end geometry. The fork legs and head tube are notably deeper, optimized through rigorous wind tunnel and computational analysis. The innovative one-piece HB19 handlebar and stem evolves the original V-stem concept with a "Plus-Four" design that narrows the dimension at the hoods by 4cm compared to the drops, helping riders maintain a more aerodynamic body position on the hoods while providing stability in the drops for descending and sprinting. The asymmetric profiles of the seat tube and rear wheel integration create additional significant aerodynamic advantages throughout the frame.
Remarkably, despite increased surface area from deeper profiles, the new S5 is 124 grams lighter than its predecessor through meticulous layup optimization and hardware refinement. This delivers a bike that accelerates instantly, descends with confidence, and sprints with authority, all while cutting through the wind more efficiently than ever before.
The Reserve 57|64 wheelset was co-developed specifically for the S5, with rear wheel asymmetry matching the seat tube for smooth airflow integration. These wheels are 3 watts faster than the previous generation while maintaining identical weight. SRAM Red AXS E1 electronic drivetrain with integrated power meter delivers instantaneous, wireless shifting, completing a system engineered for WorldTour-level performance and reliability.
