Product Details
The Cervélo S5 is the benchmark for speed and aerodynamic efficiency in professional cycling, with race results that speak louder than any specification sheet. From dominant performances in the Tour de France to victories at Paris-Roubaix, the S5's iconic V-stem and bayonet fork have become synonymous with winning at the highest levels of the sport. The new generation builds on that legacy of proven speed by delivering 6.3 watts faster performance than its predecessor while shedding 124 grams, a combination of gains that compounds into measurable race advantage.
The most significant aerodynamic improvements come from the front end, where the fork legs and head tube are noticeably deeper, channeling airflow with greater precision. The all-new one-piece HB19 handlebar and stem builds on the original V-stem concept while advancing it further. The design employs a "Plus-Four" philosophy, the dimension at the hoods is 4 centimeters narrower than in the drops, allowing riders to maintain a more aerodynamic body position on the hoods while providing stability in the drops for descending and sprinting. All bar sizes remain UCI-legal, even with recent regulation changes.
The asymmetric profiles of the seat tube and rear wheel work in concert to manage airflow smoothly across the entire system. Despite increased surface area from deeper tube profiles, the frame is remarkably lighter through optimized carbon layup and refined hardware. The Reserve 57|64 wheelset was co-developed by Reserve and Cervélo specifically for the S5, with rear wheel asymmetry matching the seat tube for seamless airflow integration. The new wheelset delivers 3 watts of additional speed while maintaining the same weight as its predecessor.
The Shimano Ultegra Di2 electronic drivetrain provides instantaneous, reliable shifting across all conditions, paired with 4iiii Precision Pro GEN3+ dual-sided powermeter for comprehensive performance data. Reserve 57|64TA wheels with DT Swiss 240 Dicut hubs complete this aerodynamic system engineered for winners.
