The Colnago Y1Rs is built to defy wind, representing the ultimate expression of aerodynamic efficiency for the fastest races. Designed specifically for sprinters and breakaway specialists, this frameset combines extreme aerodynamics for maximum efficiency with impressive stiffness to dominate the final sprint, all at a competitive weight that doesn't compromise performance.

Developed through Colnago's From-Race-to-Race approach with direct input from WorldTour teams UAE Emirates and UAE ADQ, the Y1Rs emerged from a clear mandate: bring aerodynamic performance and bicycle responsiveness to a new level. The entire design process was data-driven, utilizing massive CFD simulations and experimental wind tunnel testing in partnership with Khalifa University and Politecnico di Milano. Colnago's advanced approach validates design and simulated results at each step through 3D-printed prototypes, building progressively more accurate CFD models that are twice as accurate as standard aerodynamic analysis methods.

The Y1Rs reduces frontal area by 19% compared to the V4Rs through innovative dual-plate construction that shrinks the head tube without compromising stiffness. The revolutionary CC.Y1 integrated cockpit features optimized WYND foil profiles with V-shape design that prevents flow detachment, delivering Colnago's most aerodynamically efficient drop bar ever while being 16% stiffer than reference competitors. The characteristic DEFY Y-shaped seatpost joint exploits new UCI 8:1 tube profile regulations, offering best-in-class compliance for seated position comfort while the tilted seat tube follows the rear wheel for greater aerodynamic performance.

Wind tunnel testing with complete racing setup proves the Y1Rs requires 20 fewer watts than V4Rs to maintain 50km/h. The Real Riding Stiffness optimization delivers 3.5% greater stiffness in sprint position through enhanced rear triangle, bottom bracket, fork, and handlebar performance, ensuring maximum responsiveness when it matters most.

Perfect for professional and expert riders for whom only speed matters, the Y1Rs features new racing geometry across five sizes with custom fork trail for each size, slightly steeper head tube and seat tube angles for more aggressive tuck position, and increased reach/stack ratio. Integrated bottle cages match frame shape to minimize drag, tire clearance accommodates up to 32mm, and available seatpost options include 0mm and 15mm setback.
