Orbea Alma M-TEAM AXS

The Orbea Alma M-TEAM AXS is a cross-country hardtail built around the Alma family's close connection between rider, bike and trail. Its purpose is not simply to feel quick on a smooth climb, but to help the rider remain composed and efficient as the surface becomes more demanding. Responsive acceleration, deliberate handling and carefully managed compliance give the platform a character that suits both focused racing and fast rides on familiar trails.

Alma's carbon construction works as a system. The lower frame structure resists the twisting and lateral loads created by hard pedaling, while the shaped rear triangle and seat tube introduce controlled vertical movement. Orbea's X-Fader approach is designed to reduce the vibration that gradually wears a rider down. The benefit is not rear suspension travel, but a quieter connection to the ground that helps preserve concentration and comfort without losing the direct response of a hardtail.

The chassis is designed around a 110 mm fork, pairing cross-country efficiency with useful control when the trail points down. A lower frame profile gives the rider space to move the bike beneath them, and the shorter seat tube allows more exposed seatpost. The geometry balances a stable front end with a pedaling position suited to steep climbs, making it easier to move between seated effort and active descending without fighting the bike.

On this build, an integrated carbon cockpit, remotely controlled fork and dropper support that platform-level intent. Suspension and dropper controls remain close to hand, so the rider can respond to changing ground while keeping attention on the next turn. Internal routing keeps the layout tidy, and the frame's service access makes the concealed cables easier to reach. The result is an Alma that remains recognizably simple in its riding character while using purposeful technology to reduce distractions.
