The Orbea Denna M40 28mph is a versatile electric gravel bike built to remove the limits from long-distance adventures, combining powerful, gravel-tuned assistance with balanced handling, generous tire clearance, and a smooth, controlled ride. Designed for riders who want to explore beyond paved roads without sacrificing the efficiency and responsive feel of a gravel bike, the Denna delivers confident performance across everything from smooth backroads to loose, rugged surfaces.

At the heart of the Denna is Shimano's EP801 motor, enhanced with Orbea's RS Gen2 RC firmware. The Rider Synergy system is specifically tuned for gravel riding, delivering natural and responsive assistance while providing up to 85Nm of torque and 350W of maximum power. Two assistance profiles are optimized for different terrain: Gravel prioritizes a natural ride feel and extended range at higher cadences, while Gravel+ provides additional low-cadence torque for improved traction on loose and challenging surfaces. Riders can further customize the motor through the Shimano e-Tube app to suit their preferred power delivery.

The Denna's gravel-specific geometry is designed to provide stability and control without sacrificing agility. A longer wheelbase and optimized chainstay length help smooth the ride and maintain confidence on rough surfaces, while the longer top tube paired with a shorter stem provides precise off-road handling. The lower bottom bracket lowers the center of gravity for improved stability, and a size-tuned fork trail ensures predictable handling across the size range. With clearance for tires up to 50C, riders can choose narrower rubber for faster pavement riding or larger tires for additional grip, comfort, and capability on rough gravel.

Ride comfort is enhanced through strategically engineered frame flex zones that absorb vibration and trail chatter while maintaining lateral stiffness for efficient pedaling. The OMR carbon construction uses high-modulus, high-strength fibers and advanced molding techniques to achieve an excellent stiffness-to-weight ratio while maintaining the durability required for demanding adventures. The carbon fork combines a stiff crown with longer legs and rounded blades to improve compliance while accommodating wide tires.

A 420Wh internal battery provides an impressive balance of capacity and weight, with Orbea estimating up to 3,500m of climbing in ECO mode under suitable conditions. Riders can also add the optional 210Wh Range Extender for longer adventures. Integrated mounts for fenders and two water bottles, along with compatibility with Orbea's custom frame bag, make the Denna well equipped for extended trips.
