RockyMounts Monorail Bike Rack

The RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack offers a flexible platform for transporting road bikes, mountain bikes, and e-bikes that fit its carrying limits. Its wheel-hold design secures bikes without contacting their frames, making it a practical option for riders who regularly switch between different bikes or travel with a riding partner.

Offered in 1-bike and 2-bike versions, the MonoRail lets riders choose the capacity that suits their setup. The 1-bike version fits both 1.25-inch and 2-inch hitches with the included adapter sleeve, while the 2-bike version is built for 2-inch hitches. Both accept the MonoRail Add-On, expanding capacity to two and three bikes respectively, so the rack can grow as carrying needs change.

The rack supports bikes weighing up to 60 lbs each, with room for 20- to 29-inch wheels, tires up to 5 inches wide, and wheelbases from 36 to 50 inches. With the Add-On installed, the limit drops to 45 lbs per tray. That fit range covers a broad mix of road, gravel, mountain, and fat-tire bikes. Wheel arms hold each bike in its tray while keeping pressure off the frame. The rack is not compatible with bikes equipped with fenders or for use on Class I hitch receivers.

The platform tilts down 30 degrees for rear access without first removing the bikes, and folds flat against the vehicle when not in use. For trips with luggage or equipment in the back, that makes it easier to reach what is needed between rides. The anti-wobble hitch pin helps reduce movement at the receiver, supporting a steadier carrying platform.

The included cable lock, locking hitch bolt, and keyed-alike lock pods provide security for both the bikes and the rack. Installation hardware and a user manual are also supplied. The 1-bike version weighs 25 lbs and the 2-bike version weighs 39 lbs. Cargo-van owners should note that an 8-inch hitch extension may be required for handlebar clearance at the rear doors.
