The SCOTT Addict Premium takes the things riders love about performance road bikes and tones down the parts that wear you out. It is potent enough for fast laps and hard efforts, but it will not leave you feeling like a broken pretzel after 20 miles. This is a road bike for people who love the ride more than the effort, with the option to unleash a town line sprint or a quick descent whenever the route asks for it.
Geometry is the first clue to its character. The Addict Premium runs a taller stack and shorter reach than a racing platform, so you can hold a comfortable, natural position without straining to contort yourself. Riding with 0mm of spacers on the Addict is equivalent to 35mm of spacers on the race-focused Addict RC. Engineers also shaped the seat tube and refined the tube profiles to deliver 25% more vertical compliance than the RC, softening road feedback without giving up power transfer or efficiency.
Performance stays on tap thanks to SCOTT's lightweight HMX carbon layup. Higher modulus fibers allow material to be removed without compromising strength, which keeps the frame light and preserves the quick acceleration, effortless climbing, and nimble handling the Addict name is known for. It responds just as well to soft-pedal Sunday legs as it does to a hard group ride effort or a run at a KOM, and it stays composed carving a hairpin down a canyon road.
Tire clearance opens up to a generous 38mm, adding comfort, grip, and versatility for mixed-surface routes and rougher pavement. That makes the Addict Premium as happy on all-road adventures as it is on smooth tarmac. If you push the day a little too far, the frame-stowed Save-The-Day Kit has you covered with a tube, tire lever, and mini-pump.
The build matches the bike's ambitions. Shimano's top-tier Dura-Ace Di2 electronic 2x groupset delivers crisp, reliable shifting, while Fulcrum Wind 42 disc brake carbon wheels on Schwalbe Pro One tires keep things fast and stable at whatever pace you choose.
