Backordered/Pre-ordered Bike Policy
Contender Bicycles frequently allows customers to pre-order and reserve a bicycle for which we have an estimated ship date. Shipping dates are estimates provided by bike manufacturers and are subject to change based on availability and supply-chain circumstances.
When pre-ordering a backorder bicycle from Contender Bicycles, the customer accepts the following conditions. We encourage customers to contact Contender Bicycles to verify model, size, color and build availability before completing an order for a bicycle.
- A deposit is required to pre-order a bicycle from Contender Bicycles.
- Upon order, Contender Bicycles will confirm the estimated date of arrival of the bike in Salt Lake City and communicate that date with the customer.
- The customer may cancel the pre-order at any time before the bicycle is ready to ship and receive a full refund of all amounts paid.
- If the customer decides to purchase a different bicycle from Contender Bicycles before taking delivery of the pre-ordered bicycle, the full deposit may be applied toward the purchase of the alternate bicycle, with any remaining balance refunded to the customer.

At the core is SCOTT's HMF carbon frame, engineered with a featherweight construction that delivers competitive weight while prioritizing compliance over raw stiffness. Rather than chasing maximum rigidity, SCOTT deliberately reduced overall stiffness by just under 5% to improve traction and adaptability on uneven terrain. This approach pays dividends: rear compliance has improved 60% and front compliance 30% compared to the previous generation, thanks to carefully designed seat stays, top tube deflection, and bowed fork legs that absorb vibration exactly where it matters most. The result is a forgiving, confidence-inspiring ride that keeps you fresher over marathon miles.
The Addict Gravel accommodates up to 57mm of tire clearance and rolls on 50mm gravel tires that strike the perfect balance between control, stability, and all-day comfort. An exceptionally thin 8.5mm chainstay maintains nimble, responsive handling while enabling this generous clearance. Refined geometry places the front wheel further ahead for improved speed and technical terrain confidence, while the lower bottom bracket accounts for larger tires without compromising the bike's elegant aesthetic. Integrated storage features keep essential tools and repair kits within reach, including a frame-mounted kit with inner tube, tire levers, and mini-pump. The gravel-specific cockpit features increased forward sweep for better wrist clearance and improved brake lever access. The fork accommodates water bottle mounts on the blades, optimizing weight distribution for responsive handling even when fully loaded.
