Product Details
The SCOTT Spark DC 40 is engineered for riders who refuse to choose between cross-country efficiency and trail capability. This is a short-travel platform that opens up possibility, delivering the speed and efficiency you need for climbing and flow, while providing the traction and control to confidently handle rougher, more technical terrain. Whether you're squeezing in lunch laps, focusing on skill-building sessions, or embarking on full weekend adventures, the Spark DC 40 is built to be your versatile do-everything bike.
The geometry and suspension setup strike a deliberate balance. With 140mm of front travel and 135mm in the rear, you get the ideal compromise for efficient climbing, confident descending, and absorbing the rough stuff in between. The low center of mass enhances stability through flowing trails and jump lines, keeping you planted and composed as terrain demands. The lightweight HMF carbon frame—now in its fifth generation—delivers the efficient acceleration and lively handling that makes this bike feel responsive through switchbacks and snappy on open singletrack.
Suspension is handled by a proven RockShox pairing: the Pike 3P Air fork up front paired with the Deluxe Traction Control RL3 shock. This combination provides plush, responsive damping that adapts to dynamic terrain, absorbing impacts while maintaining the pop and feel you need to navigate technical sections with precision.
The component spec reflects SCOTT's thoughtful design philosophy. Shimano's Deore 12-speed drivetrain delivers reliable, confident shifting across every condition you'll encounter. Practical additions like integrated frame storage and a dedicated frame mount make it straightforward to load up for bikepacking or extended days in the saddle, transforming the Spark DC into a genuine multi-purpose machine.
Improved serviceability and tunability are built into the design, so you can keep the bike dialed in and spend less time wrenching and more time focused on the trail ahead.
