Pairing the rolling speed of a hardpack slick with the high-volume compliance of an XC race tire, the RCG-1 delivers an unfair advantage on Category 1 and 2 gravel races like Gravel Worlds, SBT GRVL, and Dust Bowl—where tempo, comfort, and outright speed determine the outcome.

The dual-personality tread design is where the RCG-1 truly sets itself apart. A low-ramped directional center tread delivers exceptional forward rolling efficiency with a braking surface that bites hard when slowing down. Elevated, elongated side knobs engage the moment the bike leans into a loose, high-speed sweeping corner, maximizing surface area for grip and stability. In controlled lab testing, the RCG-1 rolled at just 25.8 watts—faster than the Schwalbe Thunder Burt at 27.0 watts and the Continental Dubnital at 29.6 watts—while coming in 125 and 85 grams lighter per tire respectively.
