Beautiful Bicycle - A Royal BMC URS 01 ONE Gravel Bike
Historically, purple often indicated royalty and imperial lineage. Part of it was due to how expensive the dyes were, making the color an exclusive choice for those who could afford it. And while just about anyone can wear purple these days, this specific BMC URS 01 ONE is built to be royalty among gravel bikes. If you're not familiar with the BMC URS, we went over the main highlights HERE, as well as a comparison of it's unique MTT rear suspension HERE. But in short, the URS breaks ground in the gravel bike world with its progressive geometry that actually works well, clever details that separate the bike from the competition, and it's clean overall design.
There's a lot to like with the BMC URS. The MTT suspension system paired to the flexy D-shaped carbon post make it easy to ride gravel comfortably at speeds. The bike has a relatively high 77mm trail number across all sizes, which lends the bike a nice bit of stability particularly when paired to its mountain bike-like geometry. You can go as fast or as slow as you'd like on the URS and it'll reward you in multiple ways. This URS is stock build, but it is built without any compromises. ENVE G23 wheels are a durable yet incredibly lightweight option we've come to recommend regularly, and ENVE's alloy hubs are a stellar pairing. SRAM RED eTap AXS is as good as it gets for wireless shifting, and the pairing to XX1 AXS electronic drivetrain is a logical choice for a bike equally at home on flowy singletrack as it is on glass-smooth service roads. Everything is is done up just about how we'd do it: balanced, coherent, and extremely fun. Here's the build breakdown for this beautiful gravel bike:
