Beautiful Bicycle: Pinarello Dogma F Q36.5 Replica
Every year for the Tour de France, select ProTeams get the chance to show themselves on the biggest stage in cycling. This year, Pinarello Q36.5, led by Tom Pidcock, has earned that opportunity to chase valuable UCI points and stage glory. Recently, Contender had the opportunity to build a Tour de France-worthy Q36.5 replica Pinarello Dogma F, fitted with special edition wheels to match.

THE FRAME
The Pinarello Dogma F is the culmination of Italian mastery, with a complete focus on speed, ride quality, and race-winning performance. It is not designed only to look fast on paper; instead, it is engineered for real-world racing. The Q36.5 blue and gold finish stands out in the peloton, being classy yet flashy. The Dogma is equipped with aero features, including the Aero-Keel Bottom Bracket, a deep section built around the bottom bracket area to improve aerodynamics without compromising ride quality.

THE DRIVETRAIN
The drivetrain is the only piece of the build different from the Q36.5 team spec, with the rider opting for a Shimano Dura-Ace 12-speed system instead of SRAM RED AXS. Shimano is the choice pick of Tour favorite Tadej Pogačar, and is a sure choice for reliable shifting in a minimal weight package. During a Grand Tour, an inopportune mechanical can be the difference between a podium result or not. Just ask Andy Schleck.

WHEELS AND TIRES
To further maximize speed and stability, the team spec Zipp 454 NSW wheels were the choice pick for the build. Ceramic hub bearings keep the bike rolling fast, and the sawtooth wheel profile helps ensure stability in a crosswind. Vittoria Corsa Pros were the rubber, or in this case cotton, of this rider’s build, agreeing with Jonas Vingegaard on the best tire for road racing. To minimize weight, Tubolito tubes were chosen for their impressive puncture resistance, but even more impressive weight.

COCKPIT AND TOUCHPOINTS
The cockpit is finished with a MOST Talon Ultra Fast 1K bar and MOST Superlight 3mm black bar tape. A MOST Lynx Ultrafast Superflow Carbon saddle provides a lightweight race-focused perch. The build is completed with a Pinarello Aero seatpost and a 3D printed titanium top seat clamp.

WRAPPING UP
With the most coveted prize on the cycling calendar up for grabs over the next three weeks, all eyes will turn to the Champs-Élysées to see who takes home the yellow jersey, and what bike they do it on.
